How to resize your signature

1. Sign on plain white paper in black or dark blue ink, and take a clear, straight-on photo of it.
2. Drop the photo into the box above, or choose a file.
3. Pick your exam, or Custom size to enter the pixel size and KB range from your form.
4. Drag the box tight around the signature, leaving a little white space on each side.
5. Check the size in the result, then select Download.

Tips for a clean signature image

• Fill the frame. The signature is scaled to a small size such as a couple of hundred pixels wide. A tight crop keeps the strokes thick enough to read.
• Even light, no shadow. Photograph by a window in daylight, holding the phone parallel to the paper. A shadow across the page turns grey and can make the signature hard to see.
• Bold pen. A gel or felt-tip pen gives a darker line than a ballpoint, and survives resizing better.
• Your usual signature. Many forms reject signatures in capital letters; sign the way you will on exam day and on other documents.

Common uses

• Exam application signature. Exam forms want the signature at a set pixel size inside a narrow KB range. Pick your exam, crop around the signature and download a file that passes the upload check.
• Bank and KYC forms. Account opening and KYC updates often ask for a signature image under a size limit. Use Custom size with the limit from the form and download a clean JPG.
• Signature photo with too much paper. A phone photo of a signature includes the whole page. Drag the box tight around the strokes so they fill the frame, which keeps them sharp after resizing.
