How to rotate a PDF

  1. Drop a PDF into the box above, or choose one.
  2. Click any page to turn it 90° clockwise, or rotate every page at once with the buttons.
  3. Select Save, then download the rotated PDF.

Which way should I turn it?

  • Page lying on its left side (text reads bottom to top): turn it once, 90° clockwise.
  • Page upside down: turn it twice, 180°.
  • Page lying on its right side (text reads top to bottom): turn it three times, or use Rotate all left.

Scanned documents often mix orientations. Rotate just the pages that need it; the others stay as they are.

Common uses

  • Pages scanned upside down. Pages fed into a scanner the wrong way round come out upside down. Click each of them twice to turn it 180°, then save.
  • One landscape page in a report. A wide table or chart printed in landscape appears sideways when you read the PDF on screen. Rotate just that page and leave the rest alone.
  • A whole document saved sideways. Phone scanning apps sometimes save every page on its side. Use the rotate-all buttons to fix the whole document at once.

Questions

How do I rotate just one page?

Click the page. Each click turns it another 90° clockwise, and the preview shows the result before you save.

Is the rotation permanent?

Yes. The rotation is saved into the PDF, so it opens the right way up in any app.

Does rotating affect quality?

No. Rotation only changes how the page is displayed; the text and images inside it aren't re-encoded.
