Calculators

Loans, investments, tax, discounts, percentages and age.

About calculators

The calculators answer the money and number questions that come up most: a loan's monthly EMI and full repayment schedule, how much interest a prepayment saves, what a monthly SIP or a lump sum could grow to, GST added to or taken out of a price, the real price after stacked discounts, everyday percentages, and an exact age in years, months and days.

Each one shows its formula and a worked example, and results update as you type. Money tools default to rupees with lakh and crore grouping, and also work in dollars, euros and pounds. The results are estimates: lenders may round differently or add fees, and investment returns are never guaranteed.

Questions

How is a loan EMI calculated?

With the reducing-balance formula banks use: EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n ÷ ((1 + r)^n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r the monthly interest rate (the yearly rate ÷ 12) and n the number of months. Each month's interest is charged only on what you still owe.

Are the investment results guaranteed?

No. The SIP and compound interest calculators assume the same return every year, which real investments don't deliver. Treat the results as a guide to how saving regularly and staying invested add up, not as a promise.

Which GST rates can I use?

Any rate. The GST calculator offers quick picks for 0.25%, 3%, 5%, 12%, 18%, 28% and 40%, and takes a custom rate. Since 22 September 2025 most goods and services fall under the 5% and 18% slabs, with 40% for a short list of luxury and sin goods.
