PDF tools

Merge, split, compress, protect and convert PDF files.

About PDF tools

The PDF tools handle the jobs that come up most: combining several PDFs into one, splitting one apart, deleting or rotating pages, making a PDF smaller, adding page numbers or a watermark, adding or removing a password, turning photos into a PDF, and getting page images or text back out of a PDF.

When you merge, split, rotate or delete, pages are copied exactly as they are, so text stays selectable and images and fonts are unchanged. Compressing only shrinks the photos and scans inside a PDF, and page numbers and watermarks are drawn on top of the existing pages.

Questions

Can I edit the text inside a PDF?

Not the existing text. You can add to pages, with page numbers or a text watermark, and work with whole pages: merging, splitting, rotating and deleting. To reuse a PDF's words elsewhere, PDF to text pulls them out so you can copy them.

Do the tools work with password-protected PDFs?

Protect PDF adds a password and Unlock PDF removes one, as long as you know it: nothing here cracks or bypasses passwords. The other tools need an unlocked file, so unlock it first.

Is there a size limit?

Each PDF can be up to 200 MB. There's no fixed limit on the number of files you merge, though very large totals can be slow on phones.
